Over 17 nights, our group of just 24 guests will discover the fascinating countries of West Africa during our expedition cruise. Aboard the luxurious small ship, Silver Wind, enjoy an all-inclusive experience, with butler service and four dining venues, with no more than 274 passengers. While your daily discoveries will be enhanced by a highly skilled Expedition Team.
Africa’s Ancient Wonders
Saffron-tinted dunes follow the expansive Skeleton Coast, rising and falling across the Namib Desert. Chasing the horizon aboard 4WDs, we make stops at two of Africa’s most famous dunes, Big Daddy and Dune 45. Nearby, we contemplate the fossilised trees and white clay plan of Deadvlei.
Protecting Primates
During our time in the Republic of the Congo, we visit the Tchimpounga Chimpanzee Rehabilitation Centre, run by the Jane Goodall Institute. Witness the rehabilitation of chimpanzee infants, left orphaned by the illegal wildlife trade, before they are released back into the wild.

West Africa’s diversity plays out before us as we explore the Gulf of Guinea. From Gabon’s palm-lined beaches and the island paradise of São Tomé and Príncipe. To Benin’s burgeoning industries and the voodoo traditions of Togo.
Encounters with Voodoo
Dive into the fascinating world of voodoo during our stay in Togo. Witness mesmerising rituals during a voodoo ceremony in a local village and gain a deeper understanding of the history and cultural significance of this often-misunderstood religion.

We begin our journey at one of Windhoek’s most renowned hotels, The Weinberg. The hotel’s heritage building encloses a tree-lined courtyard, with our Courtyard Fountain Level rooms being comfortable and well-lit. The hotel’s restaurants offer a range of cuisines.
Sossusvlei Lodge, Namib Desert
Our Junior Suites at Sossusvlei Lodge feature private decks and plunge pools, with incredible views across the desert landscape. Further panoramas are to be enjoyed while dining on the al fresco terrace. Cool off after the day’s adventures in the large outdoor pool or enjoy a drink beneath the shade of centuries-old trees.
Silver Wind – Vista Suite, Upgrades Available
Our accommodation aboard Silver Wind is spacious and luxurious. A large picture window offers ocean views, while the separate sitting area provides room to relax. The queen size bed is supremely comfortable, and the marble bathroom is a testament to good taste.
