We begin our journey with two nights at Southern Ocean Lodge, reserved exclusively for Captain’s Choice. Kangaroo Island’s premier accommodation has been rebuilt and relaunched since being devastated by the bushfires of 2020, and we enjoy the opportunity to experience this enchanting property and its spectacular surrounds.
DEPART ON FAR-FLUNG ADVENTURES
Our journey links some of Australia’s most hard-to-reach places. From the secluded, subterranean town of Coober Pedy to the gold mines of Kalgoorlie. While in outback Queensland, Longreach pays homage to the national airline.

Behold the sandstone monolith of Uluru during a morning walk to serene Kantju Gorge. And toast your spectacular surrounds during the Field of Light dinner. Our Central Australian sojourn includes a stay at the renowned Sails in the Desert.
ASTONISHING NATURE ACROSS THE NORTH
Sample bush tucker and learn about the pearling industry during our time in Broome. Optional day trips from Darwin include visits to Litchfield and Kakadu national parks, which abound in thriving forests, Indigenous rock art, swimming holes and wildlife.

We admire the riches of the Margaret River region during coastal walks and visits to local producers. Wine tastings at multiple acclaimed wineries are also featured. And we enjoy the exclusive use of the idyllic Cape Lodge over three nights.

The rugged coastline stands in spectacular contrast to the sophistication we find within Southern Ocean Lodge, rebuilt and revitalised after the devastating bushfires of 2020. Each suite boasts floor-to-ceiling windows that offer uninterrupted views of the ocean below. This lodge has been reserved for our exclusive use.
DESERT CAVE HOTEL, COOBER PEDY
The Desert Cave Hotel is an authentic dugout-style residence, featuring raw sandstone walls, in the heart of the world’s opal mining capital. Underground rooms are cool and comfortable with high ceilings. Should you prefer, above-grounds rooms are just as cosy.
THE PLAZA HOTEL, KALGOORLIE
We stay overnight at The Plaza Hotel. Our Superior Rooms include private balconies that offer sweeping views of the Kalgoorlie landscape. You may also like to relax in the outdoor pool after the day’s touring.
CAPE LODGE, YALLINGUP
Our group enjoys the exclusive use of luxurious Cape Lodge. Suites are tucked away within lush grounds overlooking the property’s private lake. While the restaurant’s menu features Margaret River’s finest produce and wines.
MANTARAYS NINGALOO BEACH RESORT, EXMOUTH
Like a mirage, Mantarays Ningaloo Beach Resort occupies pride of place on Exmouth Marina, embellished by a bed of waterlilies. Inspired by the natural surroundings, the resort serves as the gateway to our Ningaloo experience.
KIMBERLEY SANDS, BROOME
At the Kimberley Sands, we stay in Pool View King Rooms, featuring spacious bathrooms and either private balconies or patios. The Sands Restaurant and Bar takes advantage of Broome’s tropical environment, with open-air dining adjacent to the property’s flourishing gardens.
HILTON DARWIN
The Hilton Darwin overlooks the harbour and features elegant interiors. Our Executive Rooms include a comfortable seating area with sofa, while also granting us entry to the Executive Lounge. The outdoor swimming pool encourages you to revel in the warm, tropical climate.

Sails in the Desert pays tribute to the Anangu people, who call Uluru home, with high-ceilinged public areas showcasing culturally inspired artwork. Our Superior Rooms are furnished in neutral tones, offering a relaxing sanctuary following the day’s adventures.
SALTBUSH RETREAT, LONGREACH
The rustic décor of Saltbush Retreat provides the ideal stage for the end of our magnificent adventure. The Slab Huts and Homestead Stables of this charming property encourage a cosy and relaxed atmosphere.
